Fighting the Heat

Summer came early this year with tempertures reaching mid to upper 90"s before the first of June. Staying inside your house with the air conditioner running is a great way to avoid the heat but sometimes that isn't enough.

When this occurs, a floor fan placed over the vent can help distribute cool air throughout your living area. The size of fan you need depends on the area you are cooling and the amount of space available to place the fan.

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a fan is how much you want to spend and what quality of fan are you needing. The smaller the fan, the less air will be circulated throughout the room, but it will still be better than nothing at all.

I recommend spending a little more money and getting a fan with metal blades. The metal blades help push air throughout the room more easily which helps cool the room faster.  This will decrease stress on your air conditioner and also your power bill.

The brand of fan doesn't matter as long as it's a good quality fan with metal blades and the right size for your house.
