Preliminary Autopsy: Adams Dies of Cardiac Arrest from Enlarged Heart
A preliminary autopsy report has indicated that Adams died of cardiac arrest from an enlarged heart.
Chicago Bears DE Gaines Adams passed away this morning in Greenwood, South Carolina. Adams was just 26 years young. This has been confirmed on Sunday by NFL.com
The Greenwood County coroner Jim Coursey said that Adams was pronounced dead at Self Regional Hospital. He indicated to a news station that Adams appeared to be in good health before his passing.
A preliminary autopsy report has indicated that Adams died of cardiac arrest from an enlarged heart. Adams was the 4th selection in the 2007 draft by the Tampa Bucs. Tampa traded him to the Bears in October for a second-round draft pick in April.
Adams was in a total of 15 games in the previous season which he played for the Bears and the Bucs. During that time, he recorded one sack.
